A Set Back
The consultant rang us: there was some sort of muck up because we were never told about the appointment. I knew it was bad news because he asked if I was there and whether we have a speaker phone, which we do.
The results of the bone marrow biopsy showed cancer cells, this means that Dave is no longer in remission. An earlier bone marrow biopsy after some treatment in December showed David in remission. There are no cancer cells in Dave’s blood yet.
The consultant has made a treatment change: Dave will go in this week for aggressive chemotherapy. The bone marrow transplant has been delayed until they can Dave into remission. This particular variety of acute leukemia is very hard to treat and is usually harder to get back into remission.

Will be praying for you all through the chemo. Thank you for keeping us up to date, I don’t often post but I do follow.

Just after I got this news this song played on my iTunes:
(an expansion on Romans 8:28)
‘For the Good’
by Shane & Shane.
When darkness is surrounding me
by Your Spirit, Lord help me sing
that You are working all things out
Lord, I really need to hear you speak
Remind me in the waiting
that You are working all things out
For the good of those
who are called by You
for the good of those
who are in Love with You
That’s why we sing
Holy God of light
I lay down my life
Holy is the Lord
Even in the storm be glorified
We like to take the blessing from You
Shall we not take the trouble too
You are working all things out
We like to take prosperity
Shall we not take the suffering
You are working all things out
Holy are you Lord
even in the storm
be glorified
Worthy of affection

Not being a Biblical Scholar this is the only relervant passage I could find to help you both at this time . Dad
Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

We worship a God of miracles and we are praying for one for you!
James (10) has prayed every night for 10 weeks that more survivors would be found after the Haiti earthquake. A couple of weeks ago i told him (shame on me) that he should stop that noone could survive this long. He kept praying each night- said he had to before he could go to sleep. Yesterday a man was pulled out of the rubble ALIVE! Yay! We need to have faith like a child!
You are in our thoughts and prayers…

Though the rope be slippery and it’s hard to hang in there. Tie a love knot to JESUS at the end….it really helps then to hold on, as did for me a long time ago. Am away for Easter at my cottage in Pauanui with some senior local ladies, and we will especially make a point of praying for you. I loved the song based on Romans 8, “For the good”. May you be strengthened by “The Word of God” daily.
