David Burge updates his journey with leukemia

Piano Exam and a Fever

with 5 comments

Rachel passed her Grade 4 piano exam with merit. She was thrilled and so were we :-).

A new word for us is neutropenia. Since Dave is neutropenic, any infection/fever can be life threatening. When home he has to take his temperature twice daily, hourly if it starts to climb. The magic number is 38 degrees and then we ring the hospital. Dave had a fever (going over the 38 degrees) in the middle of the night (Tuesday 2am) so after ringing the ward I took him into Auckland hospital. We were staying at Glenise and Jim’s so could just go without worrying about the children. He is back in Ward 62, probably for several days. If you ring or text Dave and you don’t get a reply don’t worry, he is turning his cellphone off now and again so he can rest more. He will return your phone call or txt when he is able. He is quite tired and needs to rest.

    Jeremiah 30:17
“But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,” declares the LORD.
