David Burge updates his journey with leukemia

Christmas reprise

We had Christmas with my Dad and Di (Gramps and Grandi to our children) today. We had a lovely  BBQ (all gluten free, including ice cream cones), lots of presents and a swim. The weather was mild and not too hot. Di took some lovely photos so I’ll post them later.

Dave was called into the hospital because he needed a blood transfusion which was disappointing, he was very much looking forward to the day. He had to spend the whole day there: I dropped him at the Day Stay unit on the way to Albany and then collected him on the way home. On the bright side, Dave has more energy and the doctor, who was passing on his rounds, popped in to see Dave and was able to prescribe something for his sinuses to bring down the inflammation. The doctor will discuss treatment for his sinuses in more detail on the scheduled appointment on Thursday. Tonight Dave is almost pain-free 🙂

The bone marrow transplant nurse gave Dave some literature for us to read.

Last night we listened to most of this sermon byJohn Piper . We will try and get to end tonight.
