David Burge updates his journey with leukemia

On Monday, our homeschool sports group went sailing at Weymouth (photo below).

We are receiving appointments from the hospital for all kinds of tests in preparation for the bone marrow transplant: echo cardiogram, lung test…When we met the bone marrow nurse last Friday, she listed off about eight to us, but I can’t remember all of them. One of them, which we had to organise, was to have Dave’s teeth checked at a dentist which he did on Tuesday.

I’m enjoying having a little girl in the house, especially after 5 little boys in a row.

Some serious reading

  1. Praying that the tests will go smoothly. Ruth is such a sweetie!

  2. I think that was the Karaka Point, which we farmed by lease from the Maoris for many years, in the background to the sailing picture. Many happy days were spent swimming, camping and picnicing at the Point, right opposite Weymouth. It is now in Maori hands. So glad that the boys have had a chance to try out sailing on such a nice day, it is a great sport.

  3. Had to smile at the serious reading! It bought back memories of when Jodi-Ann was five. She would come home from school each day and line up cats, dogs (we have 3 little dogs) and dolls and teach them diligently! They all had their own reading books which would have to be “practiced” every day! I was sure she would be a teacher one day!
It was great to see half your family at camp.
    God Bless
