David Burge updates his journey with leukemia

Dave went into hospital today and he hopes to be out by Saturday. The chemotherapy drug Dave is having at the moment is given by IV. It requires at least 32 hours of IV fluids afterwards. I couldn’t tell you how many bags of fluids that is, but it means that you go to the toilet frequently day and night. After this they do a blood test and if the chemo drug is still too high in Dave’s system they give more fluids.

The consultant is waiting for the lung function test results before he makes the decision about whether Dave will have radiation or not before the bone marrow transplant.
