  2. My thoughts and prayers are with you Tarnya, as well as the kids and the rest of the family.

This awful tragedy is only overshadowed by the truth in the post title.

David was a very dear friend who will be greatly missed by me, but far more by you, the kids, and the rest of the family.

Please note there are very limited heating facilities available Presumably you’re referring to food-heating facilities. I’ve seen the kitchen and this is very true.

  4. Hi Tarnya
We send our love at this time, and as you grieve, remember, the hand you hold out, will be filled with the hand of Jesus, as your heart aches, it will be annointed with the love of Jesus. You, Dave and the family gave all in your service to Jesus, now is the time for Jesus to give all to you. We have a choice, either to walk in the darkness of grief, or the light of His Love, choose light.

  5. Tarnya and family

As I was writing my blog message last night, David had been on mind the whole evening. Too late to get it through to him but it’s comforting to know he went gently surrounded by those who walked with him and for him.

    Bless you all

  7. When my mother died my uncle was heading off to the funeral and said “I’d better take a hanky, half a sheet will do”. Half a sheet isn’t going to cut it at Dave’s funeral.

I have many memories of Dave (he’s unforgettable), but one of my favourites is a photo I took a couple of weeks ago, when Dave was tickling little Ruth. Dave’s first priority was God, but Tarnya and the kids came next.

  8. Remembering a happy man, smiling, always an ear for a chance to have fun and a quick mind to provide it. We will miss you David but rejoice in the knowledge of where you are now and who you are with. Tarnya and the children, may God bless you, show you the hope of His plans for your future and give you strength to face the coming days.

  12. Dear Tarnya
Through tear-filled eyes i offer you our love and sympathy. You have been the most amazing wife and mother through all of this. I know that you will continue to be. Your children are very blessed to have you as their Mum. My heart goes out to you and your children. Every time i have mentioned your name the very next comment people have made has been about the most incredible, well-behaved children you have.
Well done Tarnya – you have been an inspiration to us all…
A BIG hug and lots of love

  13. 1Thess 4.13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 14 We believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

  14. Words can’t express the sorrow we are feeling at the loss of a most beloved nephew. Hard to imagine a world without him.

May the Lord God remember His servant, David, in His Kingdom, now and ever and unto the ages of ages.

  16. May God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ. I am greatly saddened that David has fallen asleep. I believe he was a courageous man that loved God with all of his heart, soul, mind and strength. We will see him again when Christ returns and we can be comforted by that hope.

  19. Hi Tarnya,
My heart goes out to you and the children at this sad time. Words cannot express probably what you must all be going through. This time is precious to remember Dave and all that he meant to you. The knowledge that we have that we will meet Dave again may help the pain and the loss. My eyes are wet and blurry as I type this to you knowing that he will missed by many. I will be at the service and possibly come and say my goodbyes probably on Friday. Love to you all

  21. Dear Tanya and Family,

I am sorry to hear about this. A battle never lost for in Christ, the victory is always ours. Heaven is Dave’s home now.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4

I remember you in my prayer.

  22. How glorious it is when one of God’s mighty men finishes his race well. We would all like to have seen him live on another forty years, but his lot was to shine brightly like a comment in the sky, if even for a short time. Our hearts tremble at your loss and though we rejoice knowing that Messiah will come to resurrect the saints on the last day, we will miss him dearly. May our God himself comfort you with the comfort that only he can provide in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  23. “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling” (Psalm 68:5, NIV).

Tarnya, may you find our sovereign God to be your Lover and Friend like never before. May he fill the huge hole in your and your childrens’ hearts as only he can.

What a bittersweet time, as we grieve the loss of a dear friend and at the same time celebrate his life and the hope that is ours in Christ.

  24. The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
    He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
    Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

  30. Tarnya and Rachel and all the children, You are much in our thoughts and prayers at the passing of Dave. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116 v 15. How reassuring to know that David is indeed with His Saviour and one day you will be reunited in heaven above.Psalm 71 v 14 “But I will hope continually and will yet praise thee more and more.” May the Lord continue to bless you with His peace and His presence, Love to you all, Shelley and Jonathan and family.

  32. Dear Tarnya & family,

Matt 5:14-18 (parts) You are the light of the world . . let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven . . I have not come to abolish the law or the prophets, but to fulfil them . . . until heaven and earth pass disappear, not the smallest letter nor the least stroke of a pen will by any means disappear.”

Our hope is in the everlasting promises of our faithful father in heaven. YHWH will fulfil all his promises. He will never leave any of you or forsake any of you. Hold fast to his commands and you will remain in his love.

I grew up in a widow’s home, and I know YHWH is faithful to care for widows and orphans.

Many days it may seem like a burden to have a house full of children, but “his burden is easy and his yoke is light.”
